man, oh man

i am becoming a full-fledged dork. i don't even think i can really hide it all that well anymore. sure, i'll still dress up nice and do my best to not scare the children, but you give me a chance and i will give you a fully annotated discourse on comic books. i'll make plans to go comic book shopping and when i get to Queen City Books and discover them to be sold out of Nightwing Annual #2 (are there really that many other girls in Buffalo who collect comics?!) it'll take some effort for me to not call johnny and ask him to go pick it up at Forbidden Planet and overnight it to me.

oh well. it could be worse. at least it's not stamp or coin collecting. and it's not like comic books have become so all important in my life that i can't function and/or have become destitute. i don't read the books til my homework's done (nevermind that i leave new copies at a friend's house to reduce temptation) and i stay within a budget.

and besides, some good's come of it. i've got one more person on my side of the Batman/Superman debate. :)

I'll have to remeber to ask you about the Batman/Superman thing.

It's who would win in a fight, right? The answer is the one with the good movie.

The only people who you could get on your side in such an argument either:

1) preferred Batman to begin with
2) don't care and would just say, "oh, yeah, uh huh" to any one of us geeks making any point

Seriously. Batman over Superman. Just, seriously. And Greg. Seriously, man. Just, seriously. Superman.

Seriously?

Dude. Seriously.

actually, peter, this person didn't fall into either of your categories.

they listened to both sides, carefully weighed the evidence, and in the end, picked the superhero they most identified with. you need a dark, gritty superhero for these turbulent times. and one who stares in a good movie.

Gabby, Peter was being facetious. He kind of used the exact argument he was making fun of.

There's nobody out there who would actually pick a fireman over a ninja in a fight. Especially when the current record is Ninja 297, Fireman 0.

oh. i'm really bad at picking up on facetiousismness in print. and on a second read of my own comment, i think i sound snarky when i was going for fake-haughty.

and i wasn't really just looking at better in terms of fighting abilities, although important. i was really just looking at in "non-sucking" or who's more "awesome." either way, answer's the same.
