i'm engaged!

in battle. with the humanist. i was going to let him think he won and have let him have his little ego boost, until i was forced to learn through facebook that he's dating someone. how rude! apparently, when you live more than 5 miles from the humanist, he no longer feels as though you're worthy of being notified in person of his major life changes. i, on the other hand, am a considerate friend and thoroughly update him on all of my single activities.

i'm hurt.

and what do girls do when they've been wounded? do they sit in a corner and whimper? no, they fight tooth and nail to win blog war '08.

so, eric, i accept your terms. most comments on a single post by september wins. i can see you've already been trying your dangdest to get comments and have gotten up to four. poor boy, do you know what you've gotten yourself into?!

I'd love to help you gabbs. What're the rules regarding these comments per post? Can I tell my friends and associates to comment on your page? Do they have to have blogs, or be regular readers of the 'gabsosteel'? Lemme know!

Do comments posted by the author count? The Humanist has four, but two are responses by the Humanist himself.

Eric, I'm not trying to influence outcomes at all, just trying to keep this "a splendid little blog war". Give me a post about Palin's fight to get Creationism back into the public curriculum and I'll dive in.

Also, this comment is rules oriented and thusly shouldn't count either, like the rules card in a poker deck. Sorry Gab. Maybe if you didn't decide some stranger was more ninja than me I'd have stopped a paragraph ago...

My dearest Gabs:

I'm perplexed at your post...if you'll recall, I told you all about the new gf when you were last in Buffalo...Saturday, August 9th, to be exact. On the porch? With Hoffman and Amanda as well as the Livingstons? Ring a bell?

I'd never want to hurt you....except in Blog War, of course. I'm going to tear through your puny blog like Sherman through Atlanta, baby!

P.S. Nice crowd you've attracted to your side.

Oh...forgot to comment on Greg's suggestion. I propose that author comments do not count. I am in agreement that Greg's comment should not count, but you may count both of my comments in this post.

boys boys, let's not fight.

or at least, let's not all of us fight.

goose - i have no problem with anyone wanting to read my whiny emo blog/diary. but as i would like to beat the humanist at his own game, don't be too hardcore with the promotin' ok?

greg - you may not be much of a ninja, but i think you'll be one heck of a referee. i agree with all rules as stated previously.

the humanist - telling me about a chick you are planning on banging is world's different from declaring yourself in a relationship on facebook! clearly, there is no stronger declaration of togetherness than that which can be posted on facebook. i don't make these times, i just live in 'em.

you sadden me. I'm wearing a blue shirt and my heart is sad.

you're still a lovely lass to me, regardless of the blog war.

which I will win, by the way.
